The steel furring must be attached with fixed points (#1) and the rest of the holes are drilled oversize (#2) to allow for expansion and contraction of the steel. |
The Fixed Points (#1) of the steel furring strips must be attached
to the structure in the same horizontal level so movements in
the horizontal and vertical directions are eliminated. The other
attachment points (#2) are pre-drilled oversized to allow for
movements in the vertical but not the horizontal direction. This
will allow the steel to only expand in one direction. |
