Fabricating the Material
CBF can supply the correct blades and drill bits, or we can fabricate the material per your specs. We cannot do the take-offs or shop drawings so we must be supplied the specific dimensions. CBF reserves the right to refuse the fabrication of any order.

Fabricating the Material

Segmented Diamond Blade

Diamond Tipped Hole Saw

Carbide Tipped Jigsaw Blade

For a sharp, clean edge the material can be easily cut using a table saw or a high speed circular saw with a segmented diamond blade and a straight edge. Cutting is usually done from the front side of the material, so ensure to protect the surface from damage.

Holes requiring a sharp edge may be cut with a diamond tipped hole saw, or by drilling a series of holes no more than 1/4" apart and removing the center with a strike.

For cuts that do not require a sharp edge a jigsaw with a carbide tipped blade may be used.

When the "Treated" material is cut the edges must be resealed. If CBF cuts the material we will reseal the edges. If the edges are cut in the field, we will supply the resealing product.

Pre-Drilling the Material

Completion of Work

When the installation is complete check to ensure the wall is clean and without damage. It is important that you remove any dust with a clean, dry and soft cloth before they are installed. Dust left on the natural material can cause permanent stains. For the best results any stains or marks should be removed immediately. To remove dirt and other small stains you may

Carbide Tipped Drill Bit

Steel Furring

Wood Furring

The sheets must be pre-drilled from the front side using a carbide tipped drill bit. The holes must be oversized to allow for movement of the material. Please contact CBF for the correct drill bit diameters.

With steel furring there must be one fixed point in the center of the board and the rest of the holes are oversized.

With wood furring you will not have a fixed point so all the holes are oversized.

use a non-abrasive sponge and water with a mild detergent such as dish soap. For stubborn stains or large areas a pressure washer may be used.

Only work with dry material and in dry conditions. Working with wet material or in wet conditions will cause the dust to permanently stain the natural material.
Please also remember that you are working with a finished product so it is important to protect the face of the material while cutting or drilling is executed.
